Normandía Lagoon

Envigado – El Retiro, Antioquia · Hard

About this adventure

Normandía Lagoon is a beautiful pond on the border between the municipalities of Envigado and El Retiro.

This time we'll walk through gorgeous forests, starting our hike in the San Sebastián de La Castellana Environmental Reserve. We'll enjoy views over the Antioquia landscape before reaching the lagoon.

We start at Alto del Escobero and cross part of the reserve. Then we follow the Normandía rural road to the lagoon that bears its name. Afterwards we take a sunken trail down to the road towards La Catedral in Envigado and, further down, the Arenales area, where we head back home.

Highlights: Alto del Escobero, San Sebastián de La Castellana Environmental Reserve, Nevado del Ruiz viewpoint, cloud forest, Eastern Antioquia lookout, Normandía Lagoon, pine forest, Southwestern Antioquia lookout (Cerro Tusa, Cerro Bravo, Farallones del Citará, among others) and La Catedral (Envigado).
